Having faced hard times, you have decided to move out of your old castle and into a luxurious ravine in order to save on money. The old castle was not to your liking anyway, as it was frequently pillaged, and at the most inopportune moments. Whether it was barbarians or the plague, or sometimes both, there were never enough chairs to go around. The ravine, however, is a vast improvement – you get plenty of sunshine, and you can simply discard your garbage wherever you please. In your newfound free time, you have taken up the practice of begging. Conceptually, begging is a brilliant idea, but the execution has proven tricky, as no one seems to have any money. You beg twigs from the villagers, only for them to beg them back, with no one truly getting ahead. Such is the nature of life sometimes. You go about quietly conquering people, minding your own business, when suddenly a plague breaks out, or barbarians attack, or everyone becomes illiterate, and all you can do is cling to any remaining wreckage as the storm rages on. Yet, you remain confident that, as always, you will triumph over this adversity, or at the very least, fare better than everyone else.

This is the 7th expansion to the game of Dominion. It comprises 500 cards, but is not a standalone game. Instead, it adds 35 new Kingdom cards to Dominion, as well as new "Ruin" cards that you can bestow upon other players, new "Shelter" cards to replace starting Estates, and cards that can only be acquired through specific means. The central themes of this expansion are trash and upgrading. There are cards that have unique effects when trashed, cards that interact with the trash pile, cards that can upgrade themselves, and ways to upgrade other cards.
